The space will offer an authentic ninja warrior experience for children as young as three, adults, and everyone in between.

Owned by pro ninja Mike “The Stallion” Silenzi, a name well-known to fans of the American Ninja Warrior series, this new facility promises to cater to the growing interest in ninja sports. This surge in popularity comes as no surprise, given the success of the television show and the exciting announcement of the sport’s inclusion in the 2028 Olympics.

Milwaukee’s own Nathan and Marquez Green, twin brothers and seasoned competitors on American Ninja Warrior, will be managing the 16,000-square-foot gym, ensuring a blend of local spirit and expert guidance.

Scheduled to open its doors by late April, Ultimate Ninjas Oak Creek will feature a wide range of activities from obstacle course training classes for toddlers and youth, birthday parties, and summer and school break camps, to open gym sessions, adult fitness classes, and special events.

For those looking to take their training a bit more seriously, an “Elite Team” will be available for dedicated boys and girls aiming for competitive excellence.

“Unlike other ninja gyms that solely focus on entertainment, Ultimate Ninjas is a place where kids and adults can have fun on obstacles or choose to grow advanced ninja skills, improve health and learn valuable life lessons,” said Ultimate Ninjas Franchise Group co-owner and top female American Ninja Warrior competitor Jesse Labreck. Labreck was the first woman to hit the buzzer on Stage 1 and is a six-time Vegas finalist. 

The facility boasts engineered obstacles and agility courses, including a rare 18.5-foot mega curved wall among other obstacles like the double salmon ladder and ring slider.

For the little ones, a 4,000-square-foot area dubbed the Lil’ Ninjas program will feature scaled-down obstacles, ensuring safe and age-appropriate fun.

“Unlike traditional sports where you compete against another team, in ninja it’s you against the obstacle, which can nurture a friendly and encouraging environment.” said Silenzi.  

A grand opening celebration is on the horizon for late April, promising opportunities for kids to test their skills on iconic obstacles and the chance to win birthday party and class giveaways. We’ll include details on our Events Calendar.

Slick City Action Park, known for its fast-packed indoor fun-parks, is expanding its presence with a new location at 1435 N 113th St. in Wauwatosa.

This development marks Slick City’s first venture into Wisconsin, adding to its portfolio of locations aimed at providing recreational activities in a controlled indoor environment. They currently have locations in Denver, Texas, and St. Louis.

The upcoming Wauwatosa facility is designed to feature an array of attractions, including 12 dry slides with heights reaching up to 24 feet. These slides will utilize mats to enhance speed while reducing friction, catering to both children and adults seeking a thrilling slide experience.

In addition to the slides, the park plans to introduce a “Launch” attraction, where participants are propelled into the air before landing on a foam mattress. This unique feature will complement a range of other activities, which include ziplines, a soft play area for younger children, mini go-carts, trapezes, swings, and sport courts with bouncy floors.

The Wauwatosa location is projected to be Slick City’s second-largest facility, and they are expected to hire more than 60 employees.

The park is scheduled to open in September, providing a new indoor recreational venue for the Milwaukee area.

To celebrate, the North Shore Chamber will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30am prior to the grand opening of the store. The Grand Opening celebration will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 10:00am-6:00pm at 8681 N. Port Washington Rd in Fox Point.

Little Sprouts has created a casual, bright, and friendly space that is perfect for a play date or to drop-in with your little one.

They have two locations, one in Mequon and one in Shorewood.

You can discover the play zones right along with your kids, keep an eye on them while you chat with a friend over Stone Creek coffee, or take advantage of the free Wi-Fi.

Ideal for kids ages 0-6, the thoughtful toys inside are meant to spark imaginative play.

Their play spaces are updated regularly, but you’re likely to find wooden play structures, a fanciful tipi, a group slide in Mequon, a pretend market in Shorewood, costumes, books, and more.

Milwaukee With Kids is proud to partner with Bug & Goose Play Cafe in November to let readers know about their offerings for kids and families.

There’s a new play cafe in the Milwaukee area!

Bug and Goose Play Cafe has opened their long-awaited second location in Delafield, located just off I-94 at 2850 Heritage Drive.

Sisters Lindsay and Laura opened the first location in Elm Grove in 2020 as a place for parents to spend time together while their kids play in an imaginative and stimulating setting.

It quickly became a Milwaukee With Kids reader favorite.

We visited the new space in Delafield a couple of weeks ago. It’s spacious, clean, and filled to the brim with creative, screen-free play opportunities.

The play area is fully carpeted, especially designed for little ones 6 months to 6 years old. (The space is shoe-less, and socks are required.)

The centerpiece of the new space is a gorgeous light wood climbing structure with slides, platforms, and plenty of nooks and crannies.

There’s a market area and boulangerie for kids to “shop”, a dress-up area complete with fire fighter and princess costumes, a play kitchen area, an “Animal Care Center” for kids to practice their veterinary skills, a town table, magnet wall, and colorful stepping stones to skip around.

There’s also an enclosed area for babies and crawlers to play and explore safely.

New at the Delafield location is a reading nook with cozy pillows and an age-appropriate selection of books.

Our favorite feature when we visited was the mini-cafe checkout area located right next to the real cafe.

The on-site, fully loaded cafe offers Colectivo coffee and espresso, seasonal drinks like a Caramel Apple Latte, hot cocoa and other beverages kids, plus a variety of snack options.

Parents can reserve a spot at Open Play or Mini Open Play online. There’s an option to buy a ten-pack at a discounted rate for the open play sessions. You can also reserve a Private Play Session for just you and your friends.

Caretakers, family members, and adults are always free.

Rather than offering childcare, this is a place for adults to supervise kids together, while they sip on their favorite warm beverage and enjoy a bite to eat.

“It is a respite from the harsh winters and sweaty summers, when you are counting the minutes to nap time during the day, and when the nights can be described as sleepless,” say the owners on their website.

“It is our sincerest hope that everyone who enters will feel welcome to be their most authentic self and know that they, and their kiddos, are part of a community that supports them.”
