The Hop announced that the popular Hop Summer Nights promotion will be coming back to the streetcar this August.
From 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, August 13th and Sunday, August 20th, riders will be able to cool down with free popsicles from Pete’s Pops and free live jazz on board The Hop.
“Summer may be flying by, but it’s far from over, and we’re inviting the entire community to beat the
heat this August by hopping on board and exploring the city via the streetcar,” Interim Commissioner of Public Works Jerrel Kruschke said.
The fun starts each Sunday on board the 4:00 p.m. departure from The Hop’s Intermodal Station. Local favorite Pete’s Pops will once again bring their refreshing “hopsicles” to the party, while local pianist JL Russell and his Smoothwalk jazz trio will treat riders to cool jazz.
Enjoying the Hop Summer Nights fun is as simple as hopping on board.
While there are two streetcars running, only one streetcar will have live jazz and popsicles.
To locate the special Hop Summer Nights streetcar, riders are encouraged to download the Transloc Real-time App.
Each Sunday, look for an alert in the app notifying riders which streetcar features the free popsicles and jazz, and then use the real-time position of the car to hop on board.
Riders can also be on the lookout for Hop Summer Nights decals in the windows of the featured streetcar.
